Ants are social pests, living in organized colonies worldwide, hot climates especially. Their size ranges from about 2 to 25 mm. With approximately 10,000 species, ants range from yellow, brown, red, or black.
Ant colonies consist of queens, males, and workers. Some of the most common species include:
Pavement Ants – The most common of ants, located in all 50 states.
Carpenter Ants – Nesting in moist, or decaying wood sometimes ending up in homes and buildings.
Odorous House Ants – known for their distinct odor when crushed, these ants will nest anywhere from logs to insulation.
